<\/a>Self checkout systems at supermarkets and hardware stores are becoming ubiquitous. \u00a0They all deliver a horrible user experience. \u00a0I was in Lucky recently and after swiping my credit card I was prompted “Credit 6.98 OK?”. \u00a0It took me three three tries to get it right (I know – I’m slow). \u00a0But here’s what went through my mind:<\/p>\n

  1. The Debit<\/strong> button’s arrow it pointing toward the “OK?” on the screen. \u00a0I’ll press the Debit<\/strong> button. \u00a0Fail.<\/li>\n
  2. Are they asking me, “Debit or Credit?”. \u00a0I press the Credit<\/strong> button. \u00a0Fail.<\/li>\n
  3. I press the green Enter<\/strong> button. \u00a0Success!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    But I have to ask myself:<\/p>\n
